Newsies tells the inspiring story of a band of underdog newsboys who become unlikely heroes when they stand up for what’s right. Now it’s your turn to make a difference!
Playbill is calling on students to work together on a service project that promotes positive change in their hometown or community.
Through a school, theatre, or local non-profit group, create and activate a community service project and document the process. Produce a short video spotlighting the positive impact your project inspires and submit it to Playbill via Twitter for a chance to win the performance rights to the first amateur production of Newsies!
Five finalists’ videos will be featured on Playbill.com where an online voting contest will take place during February 2018. The grand prize winner will be announced March 1.
The winner of the Newsies “Seize the Day” Challenge will win the performance rights to the very first official amateur production of Newsies, an official PLAYBILLder for their production, and other special prizes.
From Santa Fe to New York and everywhere in between—organize your group, develop a plan that will make a difference, and “Seize the Day!”
