Former presidential candidate, Secretary of State and First Lady Hillary Clinton was greeted with cheers and a standing ovation February 15 at Broadway’s Palace Theatre where she came to see Glenn Close in Sunset Boulevard.
Clinton arrived at the theatre about three minutes before curtain, and was quickly recognized by the audience, which began cheering.
As the lights went down for the show to start, just as the audience quieted down, someone shouted, “We love you, Hillary,” and the crowd applauded through the beginning of the overture clearly in response to the shout-out.
At intermission she drew a crowed of onlookers, including many well-wishers who shook her hand and took photos. Towards the end of intermission people got another round of applause going for her.

This was Clinton’s third visit to a Broadway show in just a few weeks‘ time. She attended the final performance of The Color Purple January 8, and In Transit on February 1.
