Video Watch Cast and Creatives Discuss Upcoming Love Never Dies Tour Get a first look at the tour of the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, which officially launches October 25 in Detroit.

Cast members and associate director Gavin Mitford discuss the forthcoming touring production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Love Never Dies— the sequel to his international hit The Phantom of the Opera—in the video above.

Meghan Picerno, who is cast as Christine Daaé, says, “The moment the show starts you get swept up into this world that's a dark world, a mysterious world, a beautiful world.”

Love Never Dies will make its official North American premiere October 25 in Detroit, Michigan, following technical rehearsals and performances in Utica, New York (September 22–24, Stanley Theatre), and a special preview engagement in Baltimore’s Hippodrome Theatre October 3–8.

The company will be headed by Gardar Thor Cortes as The Phantom; Cortes starred in the musical in Hamburg, Germany. He will be joined by Picerno as Christine Daaé, Karen Mason as Madame Giry, Sean Thompson as Raoul, Mary Michael Patterson as Meg Giry, and Casey Lyons and Jake Miller sharing the role of Gustave. The trio of Phantom’s henchmen include Katrina Kemp as Fleck, Richard Koons as Squelch, and Stephen Petrovich as Gangle.

The ensemble includes Chelsey Arce, Erin Chupinsky, Diana DiMarzio, Tyler Donahue, Yesy Garcia, Alyssa Giannetti, Michael Gillis, Tamar Greene, Natalia Lepore Hagan, Lauren Lukacek, Alyssa McAnany, Rachel Ann Moore, Bronson Norris Murphy, Dave Schoonover, Adam Soniak, Kelly Swint, Lucas John Thompson, Correy West, Arthur Wise, and Borris York.

The new touring production reflects a reworking of the material by an Australian creative team for the original Australian premiere in 2011.

Directed by Simon Phillips with new set and costume designs by Gabriela Tylesova, the production also has choreography by 2011 Astaire Awards winner Graeme Murphy, lighting design by Nick Schlieper, and sound design by Mick Potter.

Love Never Dies is set in 1907, 10 years after The Phantom's disappearance from the Paris Opera House. “The Phantom has escaped to a new life in New York where he lives amongst the screaming joy rides and freak shows of Coney Island. In this new, electrically charged world, he has finally found a place for his music to soar, but he has never stopped yearning for his one true love and musical protégée, Christine Daaé.”
