Film & TV News Watch Actor Saoirse Ronan Spoof ‘Liza With a Z’ on Saturday Night Live The Oscar-nominated Irish actor re-wrote the lyrics to Liza Minnelli’s famous tune for her opening monologue.

Actor Saoirse Ronan, currently the buzz of Hollywood for her performance in Greta Gerwig’s Lady Bird, hosted the December 2 episode of Saturday Night Live. The public at large has had trouble pronouncing the Irish actor’s name since she burst onto the scene as the younger sister in Atonement, for which she earned an Oscar nomination and a Golden Globe nomination.

To help everyone out, Ronan changed the lyrics to Liza Minnelli’s “Liza With a Z” to fit her own name. Watch the video above for her monologue and the video below to hear the original tune.

Ronan made her Broadway debut in 2016 as Abigail Williams in Ivo Van Hove’s Tony-nominated revival of The Crucible. She also starred in the feature film The Lovely Bones and appeared in The Grand Budapest Hotel. In 2016 she was Oscar-nominated for her performance in Brooklyn. In Lady Bird, Ronan stars alongside numerous theatre greats including Tony winner Laurie Metcalf as her mother, Pulitzer Prize and Tony winner Tracy Letts as her father, Hello, Dolly!'s Beanie Feldstein as her best friend, as well as Timothée Chalamet, and Lucas Hedges.
