The tour of the new musical Heaven on Earth, based on the biblical story of Adam and Eve, has been canceled, according to The Stage.
Kerry Ellis and Russell Watson were scheduled to star in the tour, produced by Eden International Productions. Performances were due to begin December 4 in Birmingham for a five-month tour of arenas across the U.K.
A series of emails sent to the cast said the producers were facing “serious financial difficulties.”
One email from producer Andrew Burt said, “We have explored every possible option, but now have no other choice but to accept this situation.”
Heaven on Earth, written by Sara Jeffs, was scheduled to be directed and choreographed by Racky Plews.
A note on the Eden International Productions website currently states, “After taking professional specialist advice it is with great sadness that we have to announce that Eden International Productions Ltd will be shortly placed into liquidation and will cease to trade.”
