International News Tony-Winning The King and I Eyes 2018 West End Bow With Kelli O’Hara and Ken Watanabe The acclaimed 2015 Broadway revival is reportedly on track to make its U.K. premiere in June.

The Tony Award-winning 2015 Broadway revival of The King and I is eyeing a June 2018 West End bow at the Palladium Theatre, according to a Baz Bamigboye of the Daily Mail. Talk of a London transfer has been ongoing since the production played Lincoln Center Theater.

It is also likely that the revival’s original co-stars, Tony Award winner Kelli O’Hara and Tony nominee Ken Watanabe, will repeat their performances in the London staging.

The Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II musical, based on the life of Anna Leonowens as well as Margaret Landon's 1944 novel Anna and the King of Siam, includes classics such as “Hello Young Lovers,” “I Whistle a Happy Tune,” “Shall We Dance?,” and “Getting To Know You.”

The revival, directed by Bartlett Sher, opened April 16, 2015, at the Vivian Beaumont Theater and won the Tony Award as Best Revival of a Musical. O’Hara and Ruthie Ann Miles additionally won Tonys for their performances as Anna and Ladi Thiang.
