Meg Bussert, who starred as Fiona in the 1980 Broadway revival of Brigadoon, has returned to the show (which earned her a Tony nomination) in a new production at NYU Steinhardt. This time, the NYU faculty member is appearing alongside her student performers as the village’s mystic elder, Lundie.

NYU Steinhardt’s Program in Vocal Performance is presenting the Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe musical through September 25 at the Frederick Loewe Theatre (35 West 4th Street, New York) with direction by MK Lawson.

In celebration of the run, Bussert is participating in a talkback September 25 with cast members of the 1980 Broadway revival of Brigadoon, moderated by theatre historian John Kenrick.

Brigadoon premiered on Broadway in 1947 and tells the story of Tommy and Jeff, two American tourists who happen upon a peculiar Scottish village that only appears for one day every 100 years. When one of the Americans falls for a local woman, he questions whether he ever wants to leave.
