Film & TV News The Greatest Showman Movie Musical Plans Pop-Up Musical Events in NYC Hugh Jackman stars in the feature film that is scored by Tony and Oscar winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.


The new Hugh Jackman film musical The Greatest Showman is celebrating its forthcoming theatrical release with a series of special events across New York City this week.

Tony and Academy Award-winning Dear Evan Hansen and La La Land songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul wrote the score to the film that is set to arrive in theatres nationwide December 20.

The UrbanSpace Holiday Market in Union Square will play host to a Greatest Showman pop-up musical event on December 10 at 3 PM. Wicked and Fela! star Saycon Sengbloh will perform a brand new Pasek and Paul song from the film. The event is presented as a partnership between 20th Century Fox and NYC & Company.

Jackman stars as P.T. Barnum, the founder of Barnum and Bailey’s Circus, in a cast that includes Zac Efron, Tony nominee Michelle Williams, Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya, and Tony nominees Keala Settle and Will Swenson. Michael Gracey directs, with a script by Michael Arndt, Jenny Bicks, and Bill Condon.
