New York Theatre Workshop recently announced a two-week extension for its production of Mary Jane by Pulitzer Prize finalist Amy Herzog. The New York premiere began performances September 6 ahead of a September 25 opening, and will now continue through October 29.

The play takes place over a rain-drenched summer in New York City and follows a single mother—Mary Jane—navigating life caring for a chronically sick child.

Two-time Obie winner Anne Kauffman directs a cast led by Tony and Emmy nominee Carrie Coon in the title role, along with Liza Colón-Zayas (Between Riverside and Crazy), Danaya Esperanza (Men on Boats), Susan Pourfar (Tribes), and Brenda Wehle (The Crucible).
