Casting has been announced for a new U.K. tour of Craig Warner's Strangers on a Train, the thriller based on the psychological drama by Patricia Highsmith (The Talented Mr. Ripley, Carol) that was immortalized by Alfred Hitchcock’s Academy Award-winning film.
Directed by Anthony Banks, the tour will launch January 5, 2018, at Brighton’s Theatre Royal. Producers are Ambassador Theatre Group and Smith and Brant Theatricals.
Leading the cast will be John Middleton (Emmerdale) as Detective Arthur Gerard Christopher Harper (Coronation Street) as Charles Bruno, Jack Ashton (Call The Midwife) as Guy Haines, and Hannah Tointon (Mr. Selfridge) as Anne Faulkner.
In Strangers on a Train, a fateful encounter takes place between two men—a businessman who doubts the fidelity of his wife and a calculating man with a dark secret—in the dining carriage of a train crossing America. A daring and dangerous plan develops from this conversation, setting in motion a chain of events that will change the men’s lives forever.
The tour will continue through March 31.
