International News See Who Is Joining Adrienne Warren in World Premiere of Tina Musical, About Rock Icon Tina Turner Previews begin in March 2018 at the Aldwych Theatre in London's West End.

Kobna Holdbrook-Smith and Madeline Appiah have joined the cast of the upcoming world premiere of the Tina Turner musical Tina. The two will play Ike Turner and Tina’s mother, Zelma Bullock, respectively. They join the previously reported Shuffle Along… Tony nominee Adrienne Warren, who will portray the title singer.

Jenny Fitzpatrick is the alternate Tina, with Lorna Gayle as Tina’s Grandmother GG, Tom Godwin as record producer Phil Spector and lyricist Terry Britten, Francesca Jackson as Ike and Tina’s manager Rhonda Graam, Aisha Jawando as Tina’s sister Alline Bullock, Natey Jones as Tina’s father Richard Bullock and Tina’s first love Raymond Hill, Gerard McCarthy as record company marketing manager Erwin Bach, and Ryan O’Donnell as Tina’s Manager Roger Davies.

The ensemble will include Tsemaye Bob-Egbe, Keisher Downie, Kit Esuruoso who also plays Tina’s son Craig Hill, Jammy Kasongo, Sia Kiwa, Jason Langley, Kayleigh McKnight, Baker Mukasa and Tanisha Spring and swings Derek Aidoo, Gavin Alex, Edward Bourne, Candace Furbert, Hannah Jay-Allan, and Rodney Vubya.

Directed by Phyllida Lloyd, Tina will begin previews at London's Aldwych Theatre March 21, 2018, with an official opening April 17. Produced by Stage Entertainment, the musical is currently booking to June 16.

Written by Katori Hall with Frank Ketelaar and Kees Prins, the musical will feature choreography by Anthony van Laast, set and costume designs by Mark Thompson, musical supervision by Nicholas Skilbeck, lighting by Bruno Poet, sound by Nevin Steinberg, and orchestrations by Ethan Popp.
