The New York Pops opened its 35th season October 27 at Carnegie Hall with That’s Entertainment: From Skitch to Steven, a musical salute to its founder, Skitch Henderson, featuring Broadway guest artists Ali Ewoldt and Matt Doyle, currently on New York stages in, respectively, The Phantom of the Opera and A Clockwork Orange.

Conducted by music director Steven Reineke, the concert on the Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage featured the 78-piece company performing orchestral arrangements of popular songs from throughout the sweep of Mr. Henderson’s life (1918–2005).
