Lin-Manuel Miranda hosted the video mashup of Hamilton tunes and British hits as the West End production opens December 21.
Lin-Manuel Miranda and the London cast of Hamilton celebrated the December 21 opening night of the West End engagement with the release of their first #Ham4Ham video. The one-take video travels through the halls of the Victoria Palace Theatre, where the Tony- and Pulitzer-winning musical began previews earlier this month. The mashup combines "Say No to This" with Adele's "Hello," features the Schuyler Sisters (Rachelle Ann Go, Rachel John, and Christine Allado) singing a Spice Girls favorite, a melodica cover of Oasis' "Wonderwall," and more.
The #Ham4Ham shows began outside the Richard Rodgers Theatres as a way to give all ticket lottery participants—not just the winners—some sort of show. As the lottery moved to digital platforms, so did the #Ham4Ham show, as the production continued to post videos (typically orchestrated by Miranda) to offer something extra to Hamilton enthusiasts.
As with all current U.S. engagements, the London production offers a lottery, with entries accepted through the official Hamilton app and website. Winners can purchase up to two tickets for £10 each.
