Los Angeles News Saffron Burrows to Star as Jackie Kennedy in New Solo Show The Mozart in the Jungle star will play the former First Lady in the world premiere of Jackie Unveiled in Los Angeles.

Mozart in the Jungle's Saffron Burrows is set to play Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis in the world premiere of Jackie Unveiled at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts. Jenny Sullivan will direct the new solo play from Tom Dugan (Wiesenthal), which offers a fresh, intimate look at America’s former First Lady.

Performances will run February 22–March 11, 2018, in the Lovelace Studio Theater. Opening night is set for February 28.

“Tom Dugan’s writing is both intimate and challenging,” said Burrows. “I am excited to play this extraordinary woman, at this moment in time, in this magnificent theatre.”

The English-American actor is known for playing the impassioned cellist Cynthia in the Golden Globe-winning, musical-driven TV series. Her other onscreen credits include Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Law & Order: Criminal Intent, and Boston Legal, among others. Her stage credits include Melissa James Gibson’s This in Los Angeles and the world premiere of Neil LaBute’s Some Girl(s) in London.

Check out the trailer for Season 4 of Mozart in the Jungle, below. The show features a number of stage actors, including incoming Hello, Dolly! star Bernadette Peters as symphony general manager Gloria and fellow Tony winner Debra Monk as oboist Betty.
