Ana Villafañe, who made her Broadway debut in On Your Feet!, will lead the CBS comedy project History of Them, according to Deadline.
Gloria Calderon Kellett, executive producer and co-creator of the One Day at a Time reboot, wrote the semi-autobiographical romantic comedy. One Day at a Time director Pam Fryman is on board to helm and will also serve as an executive producer along with Kellett (via her Glo Nation banner) and Marc Provissiero of Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment.
History of Them explores the interracial romance between two friends—Luna (Villafañe) and Adam. Narrated by their future daughter, the relationship is outlined using the pari's social media interactions.
Although the pilot production commitment has not been picked up formally, a green light is expected.
Villafañe’s screen credits include Max Steel, South Beach, and Los Americans.
