Private industry readings of Little Rock: An American Play With Music, written and directed by Rajendra Ramoon Maharaj, will be held in New York January 25 at 11 AM and 3 PM.

Motown Tony nominee Valisia Lekae, McKinley Belcher III, Samantha Clark, Khris Davis, Brad Fleischer, Shabazz Green, Crystal Lucas-Perry, Quentin Mare, and Q. Smith will star.

Little Rock chronicles the first school year of the Little Rock Nine as they integrated Little Rock Central High from September 1957 to May 1958. The play with music is based on testimonies, interviews, and research conducted over a 13-year period with the African-American students who became known as the Little Rock Nine, as well as other Arkansans.

Ernest Green, the oldest member of the Little Rock Nine, will be a special guest at both readings.

The upcoming presentations will also have stage directions read by Paul Wilt, with musical direction by Darryl Ivey and assistant direction by Adam Mace. Giles T. Horne is the production stage manager. Perry Street Theatricals (David Elliott, Martin Platt, Lorna Isaac) are the general managers.
