Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson will return to the Off-Broadway stage in the world premiere of Jordan Harrison's Log Cabin. The new play by the Marjorie Prime playwright is scheduled to close Playwrights Horizons' 2017–2018 season in the spring.

Directed by Tony winner Pam MacKinnon, Log Cabin will begin June 1, 2018, ahead of a June 25 opening. Performances will run in the company’s Mainstage Theater through July 15.

Ferguson will play the protagonist, Ezra, in the new ensemble-driven comedy from the Pulitzer Prize finalist. In addition to numerous Off-Broadway credits, he has appeared on Broadway in On the Town, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and last year’s solo comedy Fully Committed.

Set in 2015, a “a faraway age of hope and inclusivity,“ Log Cabin sees a tight-knit group of gays and lesbians consider the new mainstream through the eyes of their transgender friend.

Additional casting will be announced in the coming weeks.
