Alan Tudyk, previously announced as a co-star in the upcoming Steve Martin comedy Meteor Shower, has left the production due to “creative differences,” according to a press release. Jeremy Shamos will now play the role.

Meteor Shower will begin previews on Broadway November 1 prior to a November 29 opening night at the Booth Theatre. Amy Schumer and Keegan-Michael Key will both be making their Broadway debuts; they will be joined by Tony winner Laura Benanti. Tony winner Jerry Zaks directs.

Set in Ojai, California, Meteor Shower follows married couple Corky (Schumer) and Norm (Shamos), who invite another couple—Laura (Benanti) and Gerald (Key) over for dinner. Soon, the two couples launch into ruthless Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?-esque psychological warfare—the fury of which is matched only by the space rocks falling above them.

The play received its world premiere at the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego before going on to play New Haven, Connecticut's Long Wharf Theatre.

Meteor Shower will be produced on Broadway by Joey Parnes, Sue Wagner, and John Johnson. The staging will feature sets by Beowulf Borritt, costumes by Ann Roth, lighting design by Natasha Katz, and sound design by Fitz Patton. Casting is by David Caparelliotis.
