Renée Elise Goldsberry, who won a Tony for her performance in the Pulitzer Prize-winning Hamilton, has joined the star-studded cast of Amblin Entertainment and Universal Pictures’ The House with a Clock In Its Walls, according to Deadline.
Directed by Eli Roth, the cast also includes Cate Blanchett, Jack Black, Colleen Camp, Owen Vacarro, Kyle MacLachlan, Vanessa Anne Williams, and Sunny Suljic.
Eric Kripke penned the script based on the fantasy book series by John Bellairs. Universal will release the film in September 2018.
The House with a Clock in Its Walls follows a 10-year-old orphaned boy who “discovers a world of hidden passageways, magic and danger in his uncle’s old house.”
