The October 6 ceremony, held at the Globe Theatre in Universal Studios Hollywood during SAG-AFTRA's biennial convention, will be the third time the American Scene Awards have been given.

Other 2017 honorees include Twentieth Century Fox Television for This Is Us and the San Diego State University Research Foundation for KPBS San Diego.

Both the Hamilton cast album and Mixtape continue to perform well on the charts. The Grammy-winning cast album recently surpassed the total sales of Rent's cast album, making it the sixth-highest-selling cast album of all time.

The Hamilton Mixtape, which features the songs of Hamilton being covered by such artists as Sia, Queen Latifah, Usher, Busta Rhymes, Kelly Clarkson, Ja Rule, Ashanti, The Roots, and Alicia Keys, debuted at number one on the Billboard Top 200 list, and is due to see a release on cassette tape in February.
