Oklahoma! at Goodspeed Kate Johnson

The Goodspeed Musicals production of Oklahoma! began performances July 14 in East Haddam, CT. Jenn Thompson directed the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical that featured choreography by Katie Spelman. Kate Johnson takes us behind the scenes to see what it is like to do a show at Goodspeed.

“My name is Kate Johnson and I play Gertie in Oklahoma! In addition to being a musical theatre performer, I also am a photographer. The cast decided to put together a little calendar as a parting gift to each other and our director, Jenn Thompson, and I was lucky enough to get to photograph the project. During my Instagram takeover weekend, I was busy taking calendar photos of the cast in our gorgeous costumes created by Tracy Christensen, and decided to include a few in this spread. During our time here at Goodspeed, we have all become so close and supported each other in creative projects that extended beyond the stage. It is an incredibly talented and unique group of artists to be part of and I think this spread is a good representation of not only our characters and our show, but also the relationships and art we have been lucky enough to create while here.”
