Australia’s Melbourne Theatre Company has announced its 2018 lineup; the new season will kick off with the National Theatre’s acclaimed staging of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time and will conclude with a production of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night starring Geoffrey Rush.

Launching the season January 11, 2018, will be the Australian premiere of Simon Stephens’ Tony-winning play, The Curious Incident, about an incredible teenage boy, his pet rat, and the mystery he’s determined to solve. The London production will play in Melbourne through February 18.

Next up will be The Children (February 3–March 10), Lucy Kirkwood’s acclaimed British play set to debut on Broadway this November, followed by Mike Leigh’s Abigail’s Party (March 17–April 2018) and Hungry Ghosts by Jean Tong (May 3–19).

In May, MTC will stage Wild, Mike Bartlett’s Edward Snowden-inspired play (May 5–June 9), followed by The House of Bernarda Alba, adapted by Patricia Cornelius after Frederico García Lorca (May 25–July 7), and Gloria, Branden Jacobs-Jenkins’ tense drama, recently seen Off-Broadway (June 16–July 21).

The season will also feature productions of An Ideal Husband by Oscar Wilde (July 16–August 18), Lucas Hnath’s A Doll’s House, Part 2 (August 11–September 15), Nicola Gunn’s Working with Children (August 30–September 29), Aidan Fennessy’s The Architect (September 27–October 31), Albert Belz’s Astroman (October 27–December 8), and Twelfh Night with Rush (November 12–December 29).
