Top-selling country music singer Clint Black is developing a Christmas musical for the stage, according to Variety. The new show is reportedly set to have an industry reading in New York this December with direction by Playwrights Horizons’ Director of Musical Theater Kent Nicholson.

Titled Looking for Christmas, the musical will be about a veteran suffering from PTSD while attempting to reconnect with his family. Black will pen new songs for the project, as well as use tracks from his 1995 Christmas album, among other hits.

Black, a singer, songwriter, musician, and producer, has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide. He is the winner of numerous Academy of Country Music Awards, and known for such country music hits as “A Better Man,” “Killin’ Time,” “Like the Rain,” “When I Said I Do," and “Nothin’ But the Taillights.”

According to Variety, the book for Looking for Christmas is co-written by James D. Sasser and Nicholson.
