Broadway Ticket Registration for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Begins Oct. 1 | Playbill

Broadway News Broadway Ticket Registration for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Begins Oct. 1 All tickets for the Broadway run will be sold exclusively to individuals who are registered as Verified Fans.

Registration for ticket access to the Broadway run of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Parts One and Two begins October 1 at 10 AM ET.

All theatregoers who wish to purchase tickets to Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Parts One and Two must first register as part of the Ticketmaster Verified Fan program, a new process that allows Ticketmaster time to verify registrants as actual ticket buyers, and filter out scalpers and bots ahead of the October 18 on-sale date. The registration period continues through October 5 at 10 PM ET. No purchase is necessary to register.

To register, visit HarryPotterthePlay.com/REGISTER.

A few things to know:

There is no advantage to registering earlier than anyone else during the open registration period.

Verified Fan registration does not guarantee tickets, or access to purchase tickets.

All registrants who are identified as genuine ticket buyers will be equally eligible to receive an access code. The system selects registrants at random when distributing Access Codes.

If you are randomly selected, you will receive a further email on Monday, October 16 with your access details, including your designated purchase window.

Access Codes will not be delivered until the morning of the on-sale and will be required to purchase tickets.

An Access Code does not guarantee tickets. Registrants who receive an Access Code will be able to proceed to the ticket-buying page when tickets go on sale October 18 at 11 AM ET, but tickets are still based on availability.

Keep your phone handy - your text notification will arrive 1-3 hours before the on-sale begins. If you are randomly selected to receive an Access Code you will receive a text message on October 18 that includes your unique Access Code, purchase link and a reminder of your designated purchase window.

Access Codes are valid for one-time use and have a six (6) ticket limit per part.

According to the producers, All those who register and are identified as genuine ticket buyers, not bots or scalpers, will be equally eligible to receive an access code. The selection process is randomized to ensure access to tickets is as fair as possible and is in no way influenced by a patron’s Ticketmaster purchase history. Those who receive an Access Code will have the opportunity to purchase tickets on a first-come, first-served basis on Wednesday, October 18.”

The new ticketing practice, which seeks to limit the resale of in-demand tickets by third parties, has been implemented on Broadway only twice so far: Hamilton (which adopted the system earlier this year after ticket resales sky-rocketed), as well as Bruce Springsteen's history-making concert engagement Springsteen on Broadway at the Walter Kerr.

“From the start of our journey bringing Harry Potter and the Cursed Child to the stage, it’s been a priority to get tickets into the hands of theatregoers. Every performance at the Lyric Theatre will have 300 seats throughout the theatre at $40 and under per part, with 150 of those seats priced at $20 per part. As in London, where a large percentage of our audience are first time theatregoers, tickets will be available at a wide range of prices across all performances, to allow as much flexibility as possible,” said producers Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender in a statement. “And while the play was conceived to be seen on the same day or consecutive evenings, it is also possible to purchase parts for non-consecutive dates, or even a single part.”

The stage production that picks up with J.K. Rowling’s beloved characters 19 years after The Deathly Hallows left off, will arrive on Broadway March 16, 2018, at the fully renovated Lyric Theatre. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is scheduled to open as announced on April 22.

Original London stars Jamie Parker, Noma Dumezweni, and Paul Thornley will reprise their performances as Harry, Hermione, and Ron, respectively.

Additional members from the London staging to cross the pond are Anthony Boyle, who also won an Olivier for playing Scorpius Malfoy, as well as Poppy Miller as Ginny Potter, Sam Clemmett as Albus Potter, and Alex Price as Draco Malfoy.
