Regional News Additional Casting Announced for Tracy Letts' Broadway-Bound The Minutes at Steppenwolf

Come November 9, Tracy Letts' new play The Minutes will bow at the Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago before heading to Broadway.

Company ensemble member William Petersen, who appeared on Broadway in The Night of the Iguana, will join the production’s cast. Also added to the roster are Broadway alums Kevin Anderson (Come Back, Little Sheba), James Vincent Meredith (Superior Donuts), and Sally Murphy (August: Osage County).

As previously announced, Ian Barford, Francis Guinan, Cliff Chamberlain, Brittany Burch and Penny Slusher will also appear.

The Minutes is billed as a “scathing new comedy about small-town politics and real-world power.” The Anna D. Shapiro-directed play is scheduled to play Broadway in 2018.

Letts’ last appeared on Broadway as a performer in The Realistic Joneses in 2014 and in 2012 as George in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?—for which he won a Tony Award. As a playwright, his Superior Donuts opened October 2009, and his Pulitzer Prize-winning play August: Osage County debuted in 2007.
