The Actors Fund Financial Wellness Program will host an interview with the New York Times best-selling author Chris Guillebeau on November 27 at the SAG-AFTRA building in Los Angeles, California.

Guillebeau will appear before a live audience to discuss his latest book, Side Hustle: From Idea to Income in 27 Days, which describes how to “monetize our strengths and skills and restructure our lives to provide greater freedom and fulfillment.” He defines a “side hustle” as any money-making venture or project that can be done alongside one’s current work and family life.

He said, “This is a perfect concept for Actors Fund clients who are already pursuing careers in performing arts and entertainment—but for whom an additional income stream would provide much needed security, confidence and the freedom to continue the pursuits that they love.”

The interview will be conducted November 27 from 1 to 3 PM (PT) at the SAG-AFTRA building at 5757 Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles. The event will also be livestreamed worldwide. Those who attend the discussion in person will receive a free copy of Side Hustle: From Idea to Income in 27 Days.

Over the past five years, The Actors Fund Financial Wellness program has hosted a series of dynamic workshops and seminars to help participants make life-changing shifts in their finances and financial futures. “It is our intention and hope,” said national Financial Wellness Program developer Miata Edoga, “that hosting and highlighting events such as this one will help bring the The Actors Fund’s free financial education resources to the attention of as many in the entertainment workforce as possible.”

The Actors Fund is a national human services organization that provides a safety net for performing arts and entertainment professionals. Programs include social services and emergency financial assistance, health care and insurance counseling, housing, secondary employment, and training services.
